Academic Programmes
The college offers Bachelora��s programes in Humanities, Science and Commerce. The undergraduate course comprises of six semesters (three years) and after successful completion of the course with adequate credit and grade points, a student is awarded with the Bachelora��s degree. After the new regulations of Sikkim University of 2012 about the course structure, all the students are offered to study Honours courses in the college.

The College offers academic flexibility to students in respect to the option of subjects in Humanities. This provision does not apply to the students of Science and Commerce as they specialize in the subjects offered by the college in their respective streams. However, students of all the streams are privileged with the scope of reading Environmental Studies, Eastern Himalayan Studies and Compulsory English as the syllabic prospects.
Further, students have an option to undergo a non-credit course besides their respective course for which there is no evaluation system. However, the concerned Department can give a certificate for such course attended.
Curriculum
The Curriculum for the undergraduate courses is prepared by the University and the college adheres to the same. After an interval of 3 to 4 years, the curriculum is restructured wherein experts from the parent University, external Universities and senior faculty members of the affiliated colleges are associated. The curriculum focuses on the spontaneous and rigorous evaluation of the students with unitized sections for each part of the examination system.
Feedback On Curriculum
The University invites feedback and suggestions from the faculty members and the principals of all the affiliated colleges. Accordingly, interactive sessions of the college Principal and teaching faculty both on Departmental and Central levels are held. Further, the suggestions are accumulated and forwarded to the University. There is no mechanism for getting feedback from employers/industries and communities. The feedback from academic peers is routed to the University.
In a considerable interval, an interactive session of the Principal, faculty members, is held with the Vice-Chancellor and his team either in the college or in the university in which the feedbacks are analyzed and the suggestions are communicated and used for continuous development of the college.
Curriculum Update
The syllabus is revised as and when the University feels that innovations and updating of the time relevant curriculum is required, Syllabus Review Committees are formed with the inclusion of external as well as internal experts. Senior Faculty members of the colleges are also incorporated in the Committees to address the recurrent problems. After the inception of the University in 2007, the syllabus for Undergraduate courses have been revised thrice. The syllabus is revised after a close study of the syllabi of renowned institutions of the country and in accordance with the guidelines laid down by the UGC. Besides, the regional and national aspects are also kept in consideration.
Curriculum Enrichment
Besides, the prescribed syllabi on a specific discipline, courses like EVS, EHS and Compulsory English have also been inculcated to diversify the studentsa�� arena of studies. Though these are designed by the University, the college takes utmost care to facilitate the students with an ambience to prosper for all-round development. NCC, NSS, Sports, Cultural and Literary activities are organized to imbibe the essence of efficiency, leadership quality, physical as well as psychological maturity, and to make the students perfect in their potentials. Besides these, other units of the college like GSU, Anti-Ragging Committee, Career Counselling Cell, Grievance Redressal Cell, Legal Literacy Club, Red Ribbon Club, Nature Club etc. organize various programmes to orient and sensitise the students about various social, legal, academic prospects, problems, scopes and responsibilities.
